Arisaema concinnum
Arisaema concinnum is prized for its beautifully proportioned form and softly exotic presence. The finely divided, umbrella-like foliage emerges in late spring, each leaflet tapering elegantly to a narrow point, creating a light, architectural canopy that brings movement and texture to shaded borders.
In early to midsummer, slender, elongated spathes rise above or just within the foliage, typically in muted green / dark brown sometimes flushed with purple. The overall effect is subtle yet striking, with a poised, sculptural quality. As autumn approaches, the flowers give way to clusters of glossy red berries, providing a vivid seasonal finale.
Sold as flowering-size corms.
Height & Spread: Reaches 60–90cm in height with a spread of approximately 30–45cm.
Soil: Moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil; thrives in woodland conditions.
Position: Partial to full shade; ideal for woodland borders and sheltered, shaded beds.
Flowering Time: Early to midsummer (May to June).
