Aster x frikartii 'Mönch'

Aster x frikartii 'Monch'

£11.50

a much-loved, long-flowering perennial that brings reliable colour and pollinator activity to the late summer border. Its large, daisy-like flowers in soft lavender-blue with golden-yellow centres appear from July right through to October, making it one of the earliest and longest-flowering asters available.

Unlike many other asters, 'Mönch' is completely mildew-free and holds its tidy, bushy shape without staking. The flowers are held on strong stems above clean, mid-green foliage, creating a relaxed, slightly open habit that pairs well with grasses, rudbeckias, and other late-season perennials.

Hardy, drought-tolerant once established, and easy to grow, it’s ideal for adding lasting impact to sunny borders.

Sold currently in 2-litre pots

  • Height & Spread: 90cm x 60cm

  • Position: Full sun

  • Soil: Well-drained, moderately fertile soil

  • Flowering Time: July to October

Telegraph Top 20 Mail-Order Plant Nurseries

One of the Daily Telegraph’s Top 20 mail-order nurseries. The largest list of peonies in Scotland, ranging from herbaceous peonies, Itoh or intersectional peonies and tree peonies.

Gardens Illustrated 2019 Badge

One of Gardens Illustrated's 100 best plant nurseries in the UK: "Billy Carruthers is mad about peonies and has over 300 varieties on the nursery. In recent years he's exhibited them at the Chelsea Flower Show. However, they're just the tip of the iceberg for this nursery, midway between Glasgow and Edinburgh, Central Scotland"
