Cardiocrinum giganteum

from £11.50

A truly architectural woodland perennial, Cardiocrinum giganteum is best known as the Giant Himalayan Lily. From a bold rosette of large, heart-shaped leaves rises a towering stem bearing a dramatic candelabra of pendent, trumpet-shaped white flowers, each richly marked with maroon and green within the throat.

Intensely fragrant, the blooms appear in mid to late summer and make a remarkable statement in sheltered gardens.

After flowering the main bulb dies, but offsets are produced to continue the colony.

Available ‘potted’ in approx ~1l growbag or as bare bulbs.

Height: 200–300 cm
Position: Partial shade or light shade
Soil: Moist, humus-rich, well-drained
Flowering Time: July–August
