A striking and unusual sea holly, Eryngium serra forms rosettes of spiny, serrated green leaves topped with metallic blue flower heads in summer. The stiff, architectural stems and vivid colour make it a superb focal plant for sunny borders, gravel gardens, or dry slopes. Excellent for cutting and drying, it adds texture and structure that lasts well into winter.
Hardy and resilient, it thrives in poor, free-draining soils and copes well with drought once established. Minimal maintenance and exceptional presence make it a standout among the eryngiums.
