A reliable and long-flowering wallflower, ‘John Codrington’ forms a neat, compact mound of narrow grey-green foliage. From spring into early summer, it carries clusters of warm apricot to buff-orange flowers, opening from distinctive deep red buds that contrast strongly against the softer open blooms.
Tends to stay smaller and less woody than many other wallflower varieties, maintaining a tidier shape over time. Lightly scented and attractive to pollinators, it is well suited to the front of sunny borders or gravel-style planting.
