A vigorous and naturally handsome species rose, polyantha grandiflora forms a large, arching shrub clothed in healthy mid-green foliage. In early summer it produces broad sprays of simple, creamy white flowers, each with prominent golden stamens, creating a light, airy effect across the plant. These are followed in autumn by abundant small hips, which colour well and provide interest for wildlife.
Tough, floriferous, and long-lived, it is well suited to informal planting, mixed hedges, or the back of borders where it can develop its full shape.
